Reader comment on item: Should We Blame a Florida Pastor for Deaths in Afghanistan?

Submitted by concerned (Italy), Apr 8, 2011 at 05:22

Though I'm not a particularly religious person myself, I thought it was "interesting," to say the least, how Rudy Giuliani was criticized for some negative comments on an artist's work depicting either a crucifix or a Madonna in a jar of urine about 10 years ago before 9-11. He was criticized at the time for being against freedom of expression, especially artistic expression! Please keep in mind, he didn't kill anyone, call for the artist's death, or anything of the kind. He simply made a personal observation as a private citizen, period. As a result, the recent furor in Pakistan and Afghanistan is totally uncalled for. I don't like or agree with what Pastor Jones did, but where was the criticism of the Talibans in Afghanistan when they destroyed the two Buddhas of Bamiyan? Muslim terrorists and extremists need to remember that when you point an accusatory finger at someone, there are three pointing back at you!!!
