I Have a questionReader comment on item: The Roots of Iraq's Rebellion Submitted by Arthur Bay (United States), Apr 13, 2004 at 21:46 I showed your "Roots" article to an associate. What struck us most, aside from it's compelling but grim logic, is your reference to an article of yours of one year ago which you state contained the same thoughts and recommendation. I was curious enough to search it out, and I located that article -- and it fully bears out your claim, and establishes your consistency and prescience as to the current chaotic state of affairs. What we are curious about now is whether you held those views *before* the Iraq invasion, and whether you published any articles/columns expressing such forebodings at that time? That is, did you foresee in advance of the invasion the intractible nature of the Iraqi people which now appears to doom our current efforts to democratize and stabilize that country? If so, I would greatly appreciate it if you would refer me to such an article. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
