Deadline is for Iran, not IraqReader comment on item: The Roots of Iraq's Rebellion Submitted by Barry (United States), Apr 14, 2004 at 05:27 The U.S. has surrounded Iran with military forces, and I think President Bush has set a date by which the U.S. will change Iran's regime if Iran's citizens don't do it first.Perhaps the June 30th deadline is more for Iran than Iraq. The history between the U.S. and Iran from 1953 to the present is complicated. You could cite a dozen different reasons (nuclear weapons development, Khobar Towers, Beirut, interference in Iraq, Rafsanjani's obesity, etc.) why the U.S. should change Iran's regime. Which do you think the U.S. should use? If the Iranian citizens knew what the June 30th date really means, do you think they would evict the mullahs before 6/30 or wait for the U.S. to act?
