Reader comment on item: Islamophobia?
in response to reader comment: Adding a new phobia

i guess responding to this 2 years later is a little late but i want to put my point across....some of you have talked about islam as a peaceful religion yet the comments here indicates the hate that is portrayed. So you are not doing islam a good favour. the religion does not teach bad things but humans tend to do bad things. eg terrorism: killing! in the quran this is an act of sin.

christianity also teaches about peace and love....now we can see the similarities of the two religions. i am a christian and have muslim friends and there is nothing wrong about islam...there is nothing wrong with a religion if its teachings is for people to practice good. i know that islam has had bad "publicity" but you cannot blame the religion for other followers' faults. I know some muslim followers and their teachers such as sheiks or imams have taught about jihad etc but that is because they have not understood their own religion properly but this does not mean that all muslims are bad.

Both religions believe that god created people....so doesn't that mean we are all connected in a spiritual level as God the almighty have created us all. we all have the same features, eyes, nose, arms, legs etc. my strongest believe is that god created people because we are loved by him and it is our responsibility to follow him but he did not say that a pacrticular religion is the right religion. There is only one god, people believe in god but have different ways of worshipping god so who are we all to say whose religion is right or wrong. i think it's time for everyone to accept because if you reject one person you reject god's creation.

if religion is there to help us live a peaceful life and to lead us closer to god than why don't we all just follow it in the right way in our own way in how we believe and how we worship because God does not favour one over the other. How can he when the world's population is 6 billion and there are several religions.

i hope that made sense.
