Reader comment on item: Islamophobia?

Submitted by David Bastyr (United States), Oct 27, 2005 at 20:46

In my opinion what is happening today with regard to Islam is frighteningly similar to the methods by the German National Socialists (NAZIs) used to justify the principles of their movement which like Islam was intended to suppress all other ideologies and advance the Teutonic civilization over the known world. Propaganda was use to confuse the NAZIs opponents and was somewhat successful in the USA with persons like Lindbergh and Joseph Kennedy. There were German organizations like CAIR supporting the NAZI cause. There is even similarity between the NAZI Lebenstraum (creating space for expansion by eliminating the people currently occupying the space) and the Islamic nations drive to eliminate all non-moslems (infidels). My point here is that I believe that Islam is as dangerous to freedom today as Nazism was 70 years ago. It took a world war to suppress Nazism. It's anybody's guess what is needed to stop the spread of Islamism.
