Reader comment on item: Israeli Jets vs. Iranian Nukes
in response to reader comment: Only acting alone Israel can survive

The US has supported Israel since 1948 and especially since 1970. In 1973, it saved Israel's existence.

The fact is that support for Israel hurts not helps US's standing and security. It should be neutral. Israel will eventually have to learn to live off of American welfare and American made weapons. It will be good for Israel. And if the uS cuts all aid from all Muslim countries and the UN just as it would to Israel, it would save the taxpayer some more $ and strengthen Israel.

We'll soon see if Israel can survive as an independent country. Being left on its own will force it to make wiser decisions based on its own itnerests and won't leave the US entangled, something our founding fathers warned us dearly about.

As for using nukes against Iran, only do so if it works, if it is certain that Iran will soon have nukes if conventional means are used instead, and if Iran having nukes poses a danger to Israel.

Israel using a nuke will show that it has them and will set a bad precedent for their use in the future, so it is greatly undesirable.
