making my pointReader comment on item: Op Eds Now More Central in War than Bullets Submitted by trans-parere (Canada), Oct 20, 2006 at 16:17 Dear Jeff , Thanks for your reply. My intention was not to belittle Jewish aspirations. It was to make evident in the face of sweeping absolutes that Jews have not been abandoned by the whole world or subjected from time immemorial to unrelentless world attack. (Her Majesty's Jewish Forces in Palestine was not a Jewish army. Jews do not have a "Her Majesty" any thing). (Paul Newman is a wonderful actor and the movie Exodus was very moving but, it wasn't exact nor complete in it's telling). By not recognizing or holding the effort of others on our behalf to be of value, to dismissed so entirely the sacrifice of governments, countries, and particular individuals does a great disservice to Jews, Judaism and devalues the reality of the Jewish history. It is not correct or righteous. We can not compare genocides. One is not more worse or the other is not less worse. Yes, the NAZI "solution" was very industrial in nature and by design. It makes perfect sense coming from a "engineered" society. What happened to the Armenians was pure hatred and revenge and showed in it's suddenness and brutality. They have all been different and they have been all the same. Picking and choosing genocides is much like playing the disease game. "If you had to die from a terrible disease which would you pick?."
