You have correctly stated the cultural situation in the West. Can you take it one step further? Please tackle the problem of ignorance about war and warfare within the media. I don't think 95 percent of American journalists and/or pundits could intelligently outline President Bush's strategy for the war on terror. Everyone seems to be focused on daily tactical happenings and not the overall strategy. (I doubt that many have ever heard of Carl von Clausewitz or the Boer War.) This last week journalists and politicians have come to a consensus about the war. You can hear it in their tone and message. They all want it over and done with. How do we convince them that ending the fighting will not end the threat?
