RE: Moravian

Reader comment on item: Something Rotten in Denmark?
in response to reader comment: Untrustworthy

I wrtote:

"I am Muslim and I call on Muslims to stop attacking the Danish people".
You (Moravian) replied:

Fair enough if you mean it seriously, I wish the majority thought the same.

My response is:
The majority of us think the same. Only a minority burnt flags or attacked people - if the majority of Muslims were all about violence and burning as some on this forum would like people to believe, I think if more than one billion Muslims in the world became violent we'd have World War 3 on our hands wouldn't we? Nobody I know personally burnt any flags or attacked embassies. Nobody even spoke of doing things like that. Yes, the majority of us don't condone violence.

I wish people would differentiate between militant political activists who call themselves Muslims and the rest of us who just like you want to get on with our daily lives. To give you an example, I strongly dislike the policies of the current US government but I don't dislike Americans in general - granted it's becoming increasingly harder these days because of US foreign policies but still, I know the people are one thing and politics and government are another. I never let my feelings about US foreign policy affect my view of regular everyday people.
