Comparing the two religions is the beginning of a very thorny path. Christians would have to entirely divorce the Old Testament (Torah) to justifiably preach about the rights and wrongs of the other's belief. It also runs the risk of cementing the opinion in the minds of the lunatics that this is a 'religious' conflict. It's not. It also moves the 'battleground' onto territory more favourable for the intellectual minnows who justify their atrocities with 'disinformation' that they cannot back up with facts - like an impotent potentate in a harem, or a eunuch, they're 'all talk and no trousers'!

JustMe, I've noticed an increased frustration in your postings of late. This is presumably because you're frustrated that these people are unable to engage in factual discussion - preferring instead to hide behind cliche when the going get's tough. I've been there - more times than I can count! Don't let them drag you down to ther level. Keep the moral high ground that only a fool would argue that we have not won in these debates. A retreat from the battlefield of facts to the sanctuary of dogma is always a clear sign of a weakened resolve so rather than be disheartened and frustrated when one of these fools, unable to defend his viewpoint, retreats behind his scriptures. Be strengthened in the knowledge that this is hiding place for them. For God's sake, have mercy on their little minds! Save the religious ammunition for those animals who have no other way in which they can express themselves. Don't you get it? We've WON!! If we hadn't we'd be fending off uncomfortable facts and figures from these people. We're not. They're hiding behind their perverted interpretations of their scriptures and refusing to deal in facts that can be substantiated. In other words, 'a white flag'.

It seems to me that, just as with Christianity, a religious belief is defined by the perspective of the individual that follows it. Therefore, I can respect Another One's interpretation of Islam in the same way that I can only hold in contempt the interpretation of the same faith by others on this board who hide behind it rather than champion it. There may be questionable elements in this 1400 year old text but the same is true of all religious texts or histories. Either way, it's irrelevant as religious discussion appeals to 'irrational' side of all sides and this is precisely why many would lead you in that direction - an intellectual Vietnam. Keep battering them with facts! Shock and awe!

Stay cool and don't 'let the enemy confuse you' You have a good heart so we have to support each other. Just switch on the TV and have a good laugh when you hear another story about a suicide bomber accidentally blowing himself up! Or when Anonymous has further dyslexic diarrhea! Or when Wild Wild West makes more wild claims that he & Libyan dream up together.
Cowards, one and all.
