Daniel Pipes believes: "A draft evader, incidentally, is particularly ill-suited to receive the Medal of Freedom". Certainly a point worth arguing. He fails to mention that the president who presented the medal evaded Vietnam himself through his priviledged background, or is supported by a vice-president who had "other priorities". Quite unlike Ali who refused the draft because of his conscience and beliefs....
