Ali's "Crazy" Gesture

Reader comment on item: Muhammad Ali v. George W. Bush

Whomever wrote that Washington Post report about Ali and Pres. Bush gets a "crazy" twirl from me b/c it was inept and lives in an ivory tower. I met Ali a couple of times. There's no hate in the man. If there's one thing stands out is his childishness and playfulness b/c he's so bored with anything else--as if he has adult ADD or something. So whatever mistakes he made--Vietnam, "whoring", etc..-- it's not about hating on anyone.

I'm quite sure Ali meant no offense or "political statement" to the president Bush. He's not that kind of person, it's plain as day when you meet him. Plenty of "faults" but not that. That was probably wishful thinking on the part of the liberal WaPo.
