Would it have made you feel better if Muhammad Ali escaped military service in Vietnam by getting a few strings pulled to join the Champagne Unit of the Air National Guard? I know, I know it's profoundly more patriotic and American to root for a war that you would never dare fight than not fight a war you don't believe in.
