Yelling Fire in a Crowded Theater is a Crime - Trump did not do thatReader comment on item: Fellow Conservatives, Please Reject Conspiracy Theories Submitted by Robert (United States), Jan 9, 2022 at 17:58 Dear Dave, Your 1st paragraph is excellent. I would only add that our Founding Fathers were well aware how dumb the Public or Masses are - that's why they put in the Electoral College in out Constitution. According, Trumps job to be elected was not will the vote of such intelligent individuals at Dr. Daniel Pipes, to to win the votes which would result in a victory within the Electoral College. And that, as you probably know, does not mean the Popular Vote; in fact that what happened in his 1st election. But in your second paragraph, you seem to be ignorant of our American laws regarding what you call "incitement to violence and insurrection against fundamental democratic institutions." A careful listening to Trump's actual speech show the opposite, he clearly stated that his listeners respect the police. And it was a long march to the Capital - not a crowded theater which can cause a stampede. Furthermore, the Capital Police was in place protecting the Capital grounds - incompetently, as I may add, regarding the numbers. There was also the incident of bombs being discovered, which caused the Capitol police to leave the Capital grounds (those responsible have not yet been found). Trump was definitely exercising his Political Right to Free Speech. And there is no legal or Constitutional reason from restricting his right to question the results of the Vote; we know that Trump was trained by his father never to apologize or admit wrongdoing; that trait is not a crime. Trump observed how unhappy his father was when Trump's older brother was scolded for something he did which father Trump disproved of. When the elder son apologized, that only made father Trump even more displeased with his son. It looks to me like the Anti-Trump mainstream media and the Democratic-Progressive alliance got to you, and you blame Trump for the January 6th Riot. You forget that it was the Democrats who supported the Riots of Black Lives Matter looters and the De-Fund the Police Cohort. Do you not think that the Capitol police were perhaps afraid to clobber the Rioters over the head in response to their Violence at the Capitol? Is not amazing how few people were actually hurt? And isn't it amazing how little damage was done to the Capitol building and its property? There was breaking and entering, and windows and doors were broken. But non of the precious national treasures were damaged. Pelosi's Lectern was taken, but eventually returned. Just because some nuts and idiots liked Trump, and voted or would vote for him, you attribute their criminal activity to Trump and make him an "inciter to violence." We are a country with about 329.5 Million People. Don't you think we can find among those a significant number of nuts who would respond to violence at anything a President might say? Incidentally, only 700 hundred individuals have been Indicted for a Crime ALLEGEDLY committed that day - who knows how many will be found guilty. And how many of those entered the capital grounds because the Capital police did not or were not able to hold them back without restoring to violence? How many Policeman at the Capital grounds were afraid to use sufficient or adequate force, fearful of being charged with POLICE BRUTALITY? The "guilty" Democrats, under Pelosi, are still investigating the January 6 Riot - I have no doubt that is a Political Act to discredit Trump and the Republican Party, hoping to smear them in front of the gullible American public (Such as yourself?). It only took President Trump 4 or so hours to step it - when he realized that our government was ill-prepared to stop the Riot, and he Wisely stated publicly (something to the effect) that everyone should Go Home AND We Love You." What a smart Christian way to stop the Violence! But instead of acknowledging that Wisdom, the Democratic Progressive cohort twisted that statement into Trump Loving His Insurrectionist!
