For the readers: This is beyond our dear "Robert"

All the sophisticated civilizations of the Middle East had numeral systems long time before the arrival of the imperialist Arabs

Check this link and view the table of numerals in Hieratic (Egyptian language cursive) and you can see that:

1 is 1
2 is 11
3 is 111
And check the rest of the table

Numerals have always existed in various languages at various times and places.

However, they teach Muslims the likes of our dear "Robert" the concept of al-Jahiliyya or historical discontinuity when in fact history is about continuity.
