Reader comment on item: Poll: Israel Victory Gains Strength

Submitted by Robert (United States), Aug 28, 2018 at 11:48

Dear Daniel Pipes,

Apparently the thorniest issue regarding Israel
is the stand Jews of Israel and the Diaspora
is that of the so-called Two-State Solution.
That is shown intoday's dispute discussed here:

The way out should be a pro-active strategic policy
that recognizes currently the 2 entities of
(1) Gaza, and (2) the West Bank.
That means a THREE entity solution.
Substantially, Israel wants nothing to do with Gaza,
and the civil war between Hamas in Gaza
and the PA in the West Bank under Abbas
should be exploited to Israel's advantage.
A long-term cease-fire with Gaza,
and having it develop economically
will further alienate it from the PA in the West Bank,as Abbas knows.

On the other hand, Settlement building in Judea and Samaria
should continue on the basis of the Balfour Declaration
as adopted by the League of Nations in the 1920's.
If,or when,Palestinians should attain Sovereignty
somewhere in the West Bank, only Arabs Anti-Semitism,or Racism,
should be exposed as maintaining Judenrat ("Free of Jews") in the West Bank.

In other words, another kind of two-state solution is possible;
one in which a new Palestinian state in the West Bank
has a 20% Jewish demography!

Even if this is not a possible solution,
opposition to it would expose the Racism and Antisemitism
of Palestinians, Arabs, and Muslims - and even many Christians and others.
Jews must live with Palestinian Arabs in Israel,
but a future Palestinian state must be 100% free of Jews!
