Religious Freedom???

Reader comment on item: Boston Bombing Lesson: Ban Niqabs and Burqas
in response to reader comment: what happened to religious freedom?

Submitted by John Grenier (United States), Apr 22, 2013 at 09:24

Miri, we do not allow the sacrifice of animals in this country yet there are certain African and Carribean religions that practice this "ceremony", for lack of a better word. Shall we allow the decapitation of goats and chickens in the name of whatever silly religion is being practiced. This act is not protected by freedom of religion. Sorry but your argument holds no basis or foundation. I am tired of people using religious freedom as an excuse for behavior outside out societal norms. Any clothing that can give the wearer anonymity should be banned in public.
