We're just a couple of cool guys, pay us no attention

Reader comment on item: Boston Bombing Lesson: Ban Niqabs and Burqas

I think the Chechen bombers thought the best disguise was to just look and behave like a couple of cool American guys out watching the marathon, just passing through, folks, pay no attention to us, the older brother with his sunglasses and the other with his cap on backwards (surely a sign of juvenile behavior). Oh, and we'll just surreptitiously leave these backpacks behind. And they probably thought that with such a huge crowd there was no way there would be cameras snapping away from virtually every angle, and even if there were, nobody could pick them out of that mass of humanity. Wrong. The earlier photos did show a pair or trio of Middle Eastern-looking men lost among all the faces and had them circled in red. For all we know at the moment, those individuals still might be the subject of scrutiny by the authorities for past records. In those shots, they didn't look particularly enthusiastic about the marathon.
