muslims, not islamists

Reader comment on item: It's Not Road Rage, It's Terrorism

Submitted by Lev Azkhar (Mexico), Apr 7, 2012 at 10:09

Shalom Dr. Pipes

I found odd that you use the apologetic word "islamists" in reference to MUSLIMS commiting acts of terrorism. It sounds as if the terrorists were a different breed and not plain ordinary MUSLIMS.

With all respect to you; wouldn't be clearer, fairer and better to call the terrorists just plain MUSLIMS?

Thank you

Daniel Pipes replies:

You really don't see any difference among Muslims, all are identical? You don't see the battles among Islamists and anti-Islamists in countries around the world? Terrorists have no guiding ideology?

I think you need to learn a bit more about history and current politics.
