Why do authorities not make more liberal use of the threat of the one thing terrorists seem scared of - deportation back to the islamic paradises from whence they came? Putting them out of harm's way obviously helps the EU populace - and forces home the realisation of how good they (terrorists) could have had it.

In the case of native-born terrorists - then perhaps a financial deal can be arranged with the governments of their parent's countries to accept them. So that they can be warned that if they do not agree to discontinue to flout the rights of their fellow citizens to have a life free from fear and potential harm - they forfeit their rights to live in the EU.
