It's not like attempts haven't been made, not by Israel, but by various organizations and individuals that research Arab and Muslim media and education and have translated material. The media very rarely report it. The media and academia are not in the business of honest reporting and research. They know they are in positions of power in a democracy, more so than politicians because they shape public opinion, and they took it upon themselves to use their positions and power to advance social and political goals they consider desirable, based on their own worldview, interpretation of reality and ideals. To them the end justifies the means and they never have any doubt about their opinions, it never occurs to them to think 'What if I'm wrong?'. The overwhelming majority of them are leftists, and anyone with a different opinion is deemed ignorant, stupid, racist, fascist, war-monger, fear-monger, evil right-winger. They publish almost only what suits the public opinion they want to create to achieve their political goals. Not just regarding Israel, but regarding everything.

Besides, Israel has limited resources in comparison. Just think - the Ummah is 1.3 billion people strong and they have hundreds of millions of leftists worldwide on their side, including the media and the academia. Plus oil and lots of money (sure, the people are poor, but the elites are anything but, particularly in the oil states). They have an enormous propaganda machine that Israel and her fewer supporters can never match, we are severely outnumbered.
