Saudi's King Abdullah has won the heart and the mind of our President

Reader comment on item: When Israel Stood Up to Washington [in 1981]

I cannot figure out why PM Netanyahu visited Washington in the first place. He had put himself on the spot under an unfriendly administration toward Israel. To add insult to injury, he is supposed to come again for the "Nuke Summit" and to meet again with Obama but I heard he is canceling that trip and I hope that is the case. I don't doubt president Obama's sincerity but I think he had already made up his mind to force both to accept his vision for peace.

The king of Saudi Arabia has an influence and I believe that Obama takes the King's opinions seriously. I don't even doubt the King's sincerity but let's be realistic here. The King wants peace, but at what cost to the other side? Let's also remember where the Wahabism and Salafys come from and inform the king and Obama of the findings. I am sure one of them is going to be shocked if things presented correctly. Peace can only be achieved by all the parties involved, but it takes only one to start a war. The PM is on the defensive, which makes the matter worse. Offense is what's needed especially if there is no room to maneuver. The next step for the PM is to make the administration's demands public and counter the demands with demands. Remind the world that the peace with Egypt is not normal as promised.

Hate speeches from major Arab countries including Egypt and Saudi Arabia should be made available with translation so the west and US public in particular can judge who wants peace and who does not. Israel is a bit passive which is not a good thing especially when its enemy's propaganda is transmitted all over the globe with lies and twisted logic.
