Reader comment on item: Muslim Europe

Submitted by Petter Nikula (Finland), May 14, 2004 at 09:16

An American, who I'm sure has immigrant roots, proclaiming that immigration is bad for Europe? I can hardly believe it is true.. Everything we know about how immigration at a large scale works (thanks to the American experience over the past two centuries) would suggest that the doomsday scenario Mr Pipes suggests is wrong. What Europe would need is a coherent policy of immigration and better procedures for integrating the immigrants into society, instead of the current situation where basically the only way to get in is by 'jumping over the fence' and then disappear into the black work market.
