Reader comment on item: Muslim Europe

Submitted by Bassam (United States), May 11, 2004 at 15:46

Presenting the view that Europe is in the midst of a Christian-Muslim struggle further compounds the terrorists' point of view. Rather than worrying about how to stop the influx of Muslim immigrants into society, one should be dealing with how to adequately integrate them. Much of Europe has so far failed in their attempts.

The most striking of the possibilities you mention - "Immigration from other sources. Latin Americans, being Christian, would more or less permit Europe to keep its historic", is similar to what Israel has done with its 'right-of-return' policy. I doubt that this type of selective immigration policy would work.
