Simplicity of Faith Unravels the Complexity of Truth

Reader comment on item: Islamic Economics: What Does It Mean?
in response to reader comment: Self created complexity

To those who assert that the Holy Bible is corrupted, altered, or in any fashion not the revealed Word of the True and Almighty God, these are things long ago debated and long ago settled in Heaven. While humankind struggles with the realities of life, both macro and microscopic, in their simplicities and complexities, all of it comes down to what one believes, not even what one man or woman can prove. As written here before, the Quran, the Hadith, and all other writings and sayings of the Islamic Prophet exist because this same individual did not accept Jesus Christ as Savior and LORD when he had the opportunity. We know he knew of Him, for he wrote of Him, but only in a way that did not accept the truth of Him.

In responding to the comments made here, our friend Mansoor mentioned that 1400 years ago the advancement of science was brought about by the revealing of such things found in the Quran. In contrast, history in documents recovered from the desert that has scholarship dating to 500 years before that, we have witness and evidence of cultural achievements from before the time of the Islamic Prophet, and if the truth of such were recognized for what they were, other things that predate the Islamic writings are there for the revealing as well.

The greater revealing is in the statement ‘Personally I believe.' Therein lies the crux of the matter. It is reduced to what we as individuals believe. Mansoor and many, many people want to believe that the Quran and the Deity it speaks of is the source of all things. They do so because they have chosen to disbelieve in the inspired Word of God, the Holy Bible that is the source of life for all who believe Jesus Christ is LORD. There is complexity in the Holy Bible, no doubt about that. But underlying that is the simplicity of the following facts.

Jesus Christ exists. Even the Quran acknowledges that, even in the error of its portrayal of Him. There is a place called Golgotha, just a short distance from the al-Aksa Mosque, where the Romans put Jesus to death. A shorter walk from that is a place where Jesus Christ was raised from the dead, and that my friends, is the source of all Christian hope.

The best part is that we humans did not make that up…..we did not have to. We are merely witnesses. Jesus Christ, out of the love of Almighty God, was raised for our justification in believing in Him, and He is now in Heaven marking the time until He returns, for those of us who believe and will be with Him in the Heaven that He promised. All of this happened long before Islam, and by the power of His Holy Spirit, it will last long after. It is in His Spirit that we verification of our assurance in these things that we believe. It is the basis of our hope.

Therein lies the essence of life, not of misguided musings of humankind that cannot attain to the knowledge of the Holy Bible, but of the revelation that it contains to lead one to eternal life, if one desires to ‘personally believe' in the truth it contains. The words of life can be found the Gospel of John, chapter 3, or if one desires to be philosophical before reading the words of Jesus, go to the Book of Job for belief in the times of Abraham. Either way, ask the Deity of the Bible to show its truth as it is read, and see with an open heart that there is truth there.

From there faith is excercised to pray for a full revealing in the midst of complexity, that all may ask Jesus Christ to forgive them of their sins and enter into their hearts. That is the simple truth of the Holy Bible.
