Yes, they are scared, and angry!Reader comment on item: Islamic Economics: What Does It Mean? Submitted by Nura (United States), Oct 12, 2008 at 15:41 I am glad that this topic has been brought. I have actually wanted to speak about this issue. I am disappointed, but not surprised, that the intention of this article was to diminish and distort the issue of Islamic Banks. Islamic banking had been formed BY the ISLAMIC Sharia rulings concerning RIBA. This so-called academic is is trying to persuade people to believe that Islamic banking is somehow independent of Islam even a threat. This is a blatant lie invented to diminish the wisdom and truth of the religion of Islam. The Quran clearly speaks of economic matters, in fact in quite detail in regard to inheritance, rights of women, percentages of Zakat and so on. This author clearly has little to no knowledge of Sharia law, that includes very specific rulings of law, government and economics. Does the author forget that the Islamic empire was in its enlightenment productive phase when Europe was in its dark ages? What led to this sudden productivity in matters of government and wealth but the religion of Islam? It was certainly not the influence of the West! Islam pushed the West out of its dark ages! Arabia was nothing before Islam. Islam clearly had an influence on science, math, and philosophy that developed later as a result. Furthermore, Islam is a religion that has been constructed to be of all times. Islam does not outdate as we see in the example of the Islamic banking system. Contrary to popular belief, Muslims embraces advancements in technology, science, and any aspect of production as long as it does not go against the religion itself. It is through the wisdom of Allah that Muslims are able to developed modernized aspects of society that are not Western or secular. We don't need secularism to be productive, on the contrary. This is not to say that we do embrace Western advancements because we believe that all knowledge is from ALLAH he gives to who he pleases, so it is not owned by anyone. The best example I can give is the ideology of the Japanese who historically believed that the assimilation of knowledge and improving on it was not in any way a blow to the pride of it's civilization. This is why to this day they are leading in technology that they did not invent. Islamic banking was created on the principles of Islam and is needed in the Muslim world and the future the world as a whole. Any improvement that is inspired by the wisdom of Allah will be superior to those created by man. This includes democracy and capitalism. The evidence of this truth is being manifested as we speak. The world economy is collapsing because of interest!! Imagine that. Muslims have been criticized for being extremists in their belief that interest was harmful for society. We are forbidden to take or pay interest. The fact that the current global economic crisis is called "credit crises" is the biggest proof and evidence of the superiority of Allah's commands, hence the reason for this attack. If only the world would have followed their own scriptures which also prohibited interest. We are seeing the worst downfall of the world's economy attributed to interest and Capitalism which is the scum that develops from democracy. Economist as well as entire countries have admitted that the current system needs to be fixed and is flawed. The problems of credit and currency will need a full reformation in order to save the world economy; interestingly, Islamic banks are experiencing little or no harm in this credit crisis. A coincidence…. no. Allah told us thatReba, or interest was evil and strictly ordered us not to engage, Muslims are understanding the wisdom of this prohibition as we speak. There are reports that Islamic banking already exists in and embraced is Western Nations I believe the U.K. has four alone. It is projected that they will build three more in the next two years. These banks are standing firm in this crises. This is the reason why this article attacks Islamic banking. Islamic haters hate to see that Muslims got it right once again. I will say that it would be for the best of the people of this world if the Islamic banking system was adopted instead of the corrupt credit intuitions that we see today. If the world was ran on Islamic principles this current crises would have never happened. You would not have people bearing the entire financial losses while an administrator of a bank made 424 million dollars each year for four years. No wonder these banks are going bankrupt. All the while the taxpayer will bail them out while their homes are being foreclosed on. The American will realize more than anyone how corrupt their government is. Islam is the only answer for freedom and the end of corruption OF ALL FORMS in the world. Here is the question, is the West too arrogant to adopt a system that is clearer superior? I say that it is. It would rather fail than accept the help of the Islamic faith. So, I say, so be it. The expansion of Islamic economics is a fear among Islamic haters because it is a wrench in the global control over the economy and resources. The plan for world sovereignty in ANY sense will always be challenged by Islam. It has the perfect formula for resistance in all aspects of life. Islam is clearly the wrench in the NEW WORLD ORDER AGENDA. This is why the war on Islam wages in the name of peace. It is not isolated to the battlefield, but every aspect of Islam form the headscarf to our banking systems. It's clear. Man plans, but Allah is the best of planners. For every problem and trial, Allah will give us the cure. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
