When I read this article I thought for a moment I had written it and just forgotten. I agree with you 100%. It is, however, unfortunate that you had to point out something that is so clearly obvious. This double standard of do-as-I-say and not do-as-I-do can only serve to damage Israel. As dangerous as the U.S. position in this war against terror is, Israel's precarious position is more dangerous by far. As we have seen having two oceans separating us from the rest of most of the world is no longer a for sure buffer zone but it's significantly better than Israel's buffer zone, or lack thereof. We in the United States have the good fortune of having friendly neighbors. Israel has the misfortune of having 22 unfriendly neighbors and not a single friendly one. I realize that Israel's friendship with the U.S. is important and highly prized but I hope it doesn't cause Israel to lose sight of what is truly important...the safety and welfare of her people.
