A Cause for World Embarrassment
Reader comment on item: U.S. to Israel: Do As We Say ...

Submitted by Avraham Black (Israel), Jul 24, 2003 at 21:25

The US [Pres, Bush] knows deep down that Israel is a clear and shining example of what a friend truly is--a nation that can be relied upon to rise to the occasion. When Israel shows its prowess and displays to the world its exceptional abilities-- its military genius --that somehow becomes a thorn in the side of the US since it proves to the world at large that here is a nation that has more ability than the US to "target" its enemy immediately and effectively to hit it in its underbelly by "taking out" its leadership. It somehow embarrasses the US since it is unable to match these abilities. . By "squelching" Israel the US protects its reputation as the #1 military force. It may be # 1 in overall strength, but Israel is #1 in ingenuity. If left alone Israel could have eliminated the PA and other terrorist groups. Why won't the US allow Israel to unleash its power and put an end to all this nonsense? It all points to world embarrassment.
