Lobbies

Reader comment on item: Is Campus Watch Part of a Conspiracy? [On Mearsheimer-Walt and The "Israeli Lobby"]

Submitted by S.E. Cervantes (Japan), May 13, 2006 at 16:29

There is, without a doubt, an Israeli lobby. But then again, there is an Arab lobby, showering their petrodollars on some of our top universities (i.e. Harvard). The Arab lobby’s access to our politicians is real, and it has been widely reported. I’m pretty sure there’s a Japanese lobby as well. I guess my point is this: There are countless lobbies, each with their own concerns, but why focus almost exclusively on the Jewish nation of Israel? What makes them special?
