Where did the laws come from?

(Just spotted this article, while reading another one ...) Australian treasurer Peter Costello noted that his country's Constitution says it's a secular state ... but wait a sec': where did the laws come from in the first place? Laws in Australia, Canada, the US, Great Britain, etc., are founded not because some people thought they were a "nice idea", but on principles to be found in (here it comes, folks) the Bible. The Ten Commandments ... Mosaic law ... Jesus' two Great Commandments -- love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength; love your neighbour as yourself (as you, yourself, are loved by God). So maybe the state is "secular", but the laws aren't. I'd suggest that public leaders who want to take a stand for the "*****-ness" of their country should back up a tad further and state that their countries' traditions are founded in Judeo-Christian laws and anyone who can't live with that needs to find another country.
