Reader comment on item: Islamists, Get Out

Submitted by Øyvind Sørøy (Japan), Sep 1, 2005 at 09:14

A very informative and reflective article.

To be blunt, whenever we go to their countries, they want us to adapt to their lifestyles (aka. religion/cult), so why should we in our own countries have to adapt to their lifestyle as if it was the supreme way of life? Things should be fair, and if we have to accept how they live in their countries (and we already do, because women get beaten to death and stoned and those who oppose the religion get killed), they should accept how we have it here, and at the same time not introduce their way of living over here in the west. They should be equally as understandable of cultural differences as we are supposed to be.

I really agree with the "no integration - no immigration" politics that some of the aforementioned people spoke of. We are entitled to demand something from them, and for them to accept our politics without change should be mandatory when they immigrate.
