As the Middle East scenario continues to baffle even the most jaded observers of these games of imperial domination, one might need to discern who is moving in chess form to the goal and who is merely conquering in checkers to get the most kings.
But before contemplating this in too deep a fashion, allow congratulations for being able to return to this forum. For those of us who understand, it is a hard thing to go through.
The Russian agreement (Syria had no choice) to increase the maritime presence in the Mediterranean is no small matter, even in spite of Turkey's continuing increases of their own. For Turkey, it is territorial in its base ambitions, Erdoǧan's driving mindset being the force majeure in the region now taking advantage of the vacuums of opportunity. The Russians will accommodate as long as they are not impeded in their own ambitions.
However, this observer is biding the time in watching the scenario play itself out. It should not be too long before what has been proffered earlier begin to reveal what it is expected not too many will expect. Just ask the apocalyptics in ISIL'ISIS
