massive not marginal

Reader comment on item: What's Trump's Policy on Visas for Muslims?

Submitted by myth (Germany), Aug 18, 2016 at 05:33

Trump by and and large favours massive measures over marginal ones no matter what the subject. Unlike the professional politician who would go for marginal measures resulting in marginal changes that are open to interpretation, allow for lies, or require another term in office to see the resutls at all. In short, professional politicians go for symbolic measures whereas Trump goes for hammer-measures.

In that he resembles Obama.

As for the nature of his policies and measures he is open to adapt by the hour. This is where he differs from Obama who has always been married to ideology.

Immigration is certainly the massive problem in the West that requires immediate measures. Why out of all people is Trump the only major figure to see this?

The question is, can a fast car compensate for an amateur driver at the wheel, partially blind, without a license, in hurry all the time?
