I AGREE to a degree

Reader comment on item: What's Trump's Policy on Visas for Muslims?
in response to reader comment: The problem with vetting.

for the most part - I don't think your assessment of 'most Americans' is quite on the mark - assuming you think of me as being representative of 'most Americans' - my grandparents were immigrants and I grew up in a community primarily made up of new immigrants or 2nd or 3rd generation immigrants (so to speak) as I think we can agree that 2nd and 3rd generation immigrants are really Americans - I'm not certain about my grandparents but my parents are (were) dyed-in-the-wool Democrats while I am not and most of my siblings are not either - my grandparents came to the USA legally so I have no issue with legal immigration - that said I am sympathetic toward illegal immigrants who came here looking for a better life - I see them as economic refugees - however I do not think they should be allowed to stay here in an illegal 'status' - these people MUST be identified and vetted and registered as a 'guest' 'student' 'refugee' or whatever 'status' best suits their circumstances - but this article addresses the importation of gross numbers of unvettable potential terrorists - NO WAY JOSE!!!
