Reader comment on item: [UNRWA:] The Refugee Curse

Submitted by Ronald Nord (United States), Mar 3, 2005 at 12:32

This is what is wrong with the United Nations: it is a self perpetuating and wasteful bureaucracy and it will never in a thousand years put UNRWA out of existence. Like in New York where people were put on welfare status for decades in order to perpetuate the 'handlers' of the poor and insure them of a job for life, it is the same for UNRWA and the Palestine refugees. This victimhood mantle given to the Palestinians has caused grief for the whole world and helped keep in power despots and murderers. It is time to rid ourselves of the onerous monetary obligation. It would be better to burn the money than continue to pay for something that doesn't work and promotes killings.

The whole UN structure is corrupt with thugs and self serving thieves, time to shut the whole thing down.
