Reader comment on item: [UNRWA:] The Refugee Curse

Submitted by Khadijeh Zarafshar (United States), Aug 21, 2003 at 13:25

Perhaps the Palestinians should continue to be considered refugees. After all, the conflict in their homeland has not yet been resolved, and they are still being denied their right of return. If commenter Linda Reboh so desired, she could return to Morocco immediately. It is not up to her, or any one else, to decide whether the Palestinians living in horrible conditions in refugee camps wish to return to the land their parents were forced out of. Furthermore, I think it is the Israeli occupiers of Palestine, who are enjoying technology rivaled by none but the United States, that teach Palestinians anger and resentment. It is the Palestinians that will suffer until justice can be obtained in their land.
