Palestinian right to return

Reader comment on item: [UNRWA:] The Refugee Curse

Submitted by Dave (United Kingdom), Aug 21, 2003 at 09:21

I'm often mystified as to why it is deemed that Arab countries should accept Palestinian refugees (and yes they are refugees). To these countries Palestinians are regarded as aliens, or immigrants as the more befriending term is known. The US, UK and other such "civilised" nations also harbour harsh unfair treatment of those they consider illegal aliens. Why should Arab countries necessarily bear the brunt of refugees? Because they share similar skin colour and language? The Palestinians have a home and it is called Palestine. Palestine will be created, and as much as the Palestinians, in their tiny state, will have to learn to live with their Israeli neighbours, and understand that Israel is (rightly) here to stay. so too must Israel learn to live with and accept their Palestinian counterparts.
