Abortion of female child is a social problem, but it's roots lies in religion.

when we say west, what is west? that is just a direction, is west a christian majority? ya, so does west mean christian? No, west means freedom and christianity/bible is not freedom I don't know whether any religious book is changed/corrupted by time but read it today and you can see how male is superior. A man can work in Islam, a woman only if man agrees. In christianity something similar is there. In hinduism there is no such rule but that is how society perceives.

this is a small example, a man doesnt need to change surname, in islam woman also doesnt change surname, but kids get father's surname in almost all major religions. so family tree continue.

these small things make a big picture and an environment which is more conducive, helpful, and appreciating for men. From there stems the need and greed of parents to ahve a boy child.
