Let's be impartial

This is not a defence of Islam. The stories do not shock me at all...I am a "recovered" Muslim MD. I have personally seen and experienced similar incidents during my practice in the Middle East, Europe and the US. But this is not limited to Islam, I have seen other followers of other "faiths" who demanded medical care à la carte: Catholics who requested a priest in the middle of critical medical intervention, Jehova's witnesses who refused transfusion for dying "beloved" family members, Christian Scientists who refused any modern medicine, Hassidc Jews who accept only kosher medications, etc. The list goes on and on...

So it will be fair not to single out one religion. The problem is with Islam and all fundamentalists of all religions. Religion can be blinding!
