Reader comment on item: Islamists in the Hospital Ward

Submitted by paul murphy (Ireland), Jan 8, 2007 at 06:29

Moslems do not deny their children access to life-saving treatment. Christian Jehovah's Witnesses do.

Moslems do not burn-down clinics and murder doctors who perform procedures with which they do not agree. 'Christian' fundamentalists do.

Lesbians who have conceived using A.I. have refused treatment by male obstretrician/gynaechologists provided by the UK National Health Service (BTW, How many US lesbian couples use male doctors?)

Hand-washing solutions in UK hospitals seldom contain ethyl or methyl - alcohol. The active agents are usually chlorine-compounds. This was pointed out by a British doctor in response to the article in the Murdock tabloid, 'The Sun'.

In the UK and France women of all faiths and none frequently specify a preference for female doctors - particularly in relation to gynae/obs matters, and their preference is invariably respected.

The article about the Turkish incident also seems to be less than reliable.

Moslems are over-represented in the UK medical-profession - (particularly at consultant level) - in proportion to their percentage of the population. There is no evidence whatsoever that these practitioners are anything but exemplary in their practices and practice, or do not treat their patients of every race creed and colour according to best medical practice. ...
