Hi Ann,

You have some good points. Funny that you mention Chesterton, because a lot of what you write reminds me of one of his books ( my favourite by him, actually ); "The Flying Inn". Your description of the liberal upper class is so like Lord Ivywood. I come from a very Anglophile family and have many British friends. I am profoundly saddened by what has happened to UK politics during the last couple of decades. You are far worse off than we are in Denmark., which is hard to comprehend.

I re-read Enoch Powell`s 1968 speech "River of Blood" the other day. He was absolutely right, and did not deserve the treatment he got. Especially not from the Conservative Party. Those who supported him the most where the Dockers of London. Common folks and common sense, eh? EU = Elitarian Union. A threat and a daily menace.
