This book is amazingReader comment on item: Fascism's Legacy: Liberalism Submitted by Henrik R Clausen (Denmark), Jan 20, 2008 at 12:10 On Daniel's suggestion, I ordered a copy immediately. And I'm really happy with it. Just getting a real tour through what fascism actually means (besides 'Bad') is fascinating beyond expectation. Critizising Islam one easily gets the 'fascist' slur against one, and while I've never taken interest in fascism (it's a crap ideology in the first place), knowing about it is a very relevant defense. Knowning about it's evil twin Nazism is important, too, as is knowing the distingiushing elements between the two (mainly anti-Jewish racism). While the book is a tad polemicist in the details, as Goldberg takes some swipes at his political opponents, that doesn't detract from the main line, that fascism is basically a left-wing ideology closely related to Soviet Communism, and that its proper antidote is Conservatism. Still 200+ pages to go. I'm having a party :) Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
