Though there may be some just merit in your recent article, I perceive things a bit differently. Briefly,...at the core of their world view is the total conversion to the Lord Jesus Christ. Their means of getting us there are dependent upon one major theological premise: the end days or the prophecies of the Book of Revelation according to John. I will not bore you with the details because you are most aware of what this is predicated upon.
Today in Israel with the help of a group of fundamentalists, 6 heifers are being observed to determine if one will be pure red. This is an important moment for it brings into play the rebuilding of the Third Temple on Muslim holy ground and the approaching of two significant comings: for Jews, the Messiah and for Christians, the return of Jesus. All of this, of course, will lead to the words of Revelation being fulfilled in a moment of fire.
Most of the support in the 19th century for the founding of a Jewish state in what was then regarded as Palestine was nothing less than blatant anti-semitism and the emerging liberalism or progressivism of the times to rid Western democracies of their Jewish citizens. Let history speak the truth. None of the governments you write of cared about the Jews other than their financial abilities and the capital they expended to advance themselves. The result of this became the Shoah when none of these countries lifted a finger to help the Jews. Thus, our present disaster in the Middle East and the decline in civilization and culture throughout Europe.
I will not argue that Christian Zionists fully support Israel. But, does this support extend to the Jews who inhabit their holy, traditional land? In revisionist history, the Jews have no right or claim to the West Bank. This is simply absurd. A true peace will come when any Jew can live, pray, and thrive securely among the Arabs and Muslims whether it be in the territories, the Palestinian state, or the host of countries devoted to the destruction of the Jewish people. Only time will define the absolute meaning of your thought.
