I can't really see the support of the Christian Right as a Trojan horse. But only because Israel would not, and will not, allow that to hppen. But Jews should always keep in mind that for the Christian Right the return of all Jews to the Pomised Land (including the West Bank, but not Gaza) is the condition for the possibility for the "parousia", the second coming of Jesus Christ. And not only that, but the Messianic era (as understood by the Christian Right) will be the ocassion for the Jews to rectify their "mistake" by accepting Jesus as the Jewish Messiah. The fact of the matter is that this whole thing is not very "Jewish friendly." But, as the article points out, the Christian Right in America is, under the circumstances now existing, a very significant support for Israel. Israel is not blessed with so much support from "the nations" that she can afford to be all that picky about who supports Her. (And it is true that in America as the secular left stumbles towards virtual Anti-Semitism, the Christian Right gains even greater significance.) But please. Take this support with "eyes wide open."
