A little confused

Reader comment on item: 'Become a Muslim warrior'

Submitted by Kate (United States), Dec 1, 2006 at 11:24

I am not actually sure what people are so upset about. I will admit, some of these things go a little further than necessary when teaching children about Islam. However, most of the responses here seem blind to the fact that Islam is not all about jihad and terrorism. I suspect that very few of the people writing here know much about the Islamic faith. I would like to point out that I am not Muslim. I don't have any urge to be. And while certain things mentioned in the article are indeed over the top, I don't think it's cause for such uneducated outrage.

Also, to the comment named "God is not allowed in schools but allah is"... if you knew anything about the religion, you would probably realize that God and Allah, according to the religion itself, are one and the same. While religion shouldn't be promoted in schools, I don't think ignorance should either.
