Response to Syam Rudra, and others of like mind.....Reader comment on item: 'Become a Muslim warrior' Submitted by ObsidianCrystal (Canada), Nov 18, 2002 at 05:51 Very interesting, and maturely put.....but like many you still seem to percieve the matter as one of competition, and the weapon in this matter as forced persuasion and world domination. One could say the same things about the Judeo-Christian heritage you claim the US has. There were a people existent before the US that is today, and their religion wasn't of the Judeo-Christian tradition. Couldn't Christianity's goal be that of world-domination? There are Christians all over the world...and it wasn't always that way. Religions spread, flourish, and die. This is because of each individual's choice to believe.Islam is an existing religion, and there will be people that choose to believe in this religion, in several parts of the world. One cannot force someone to fit a certain mold, Judeo-Christian or not, for we are all individuals and our choices should be respected. I, like at least one other that has written in reply to this article, do not believe that role-playing makes you one with the beliefs that you are feigning. It gives you an experience, and as you are involved, you learn. Children are not always the sponges that some make them out to be. I sang Christmas carols, took part in Christmas plays, and went to church as a child. The Christian path is not for me, but this is my own individual choice. I am not Muslim. But I am not going to hassle those who are just because they chose, as I did, not to be Christian. Just because some do not fit the mold does not mean that you should oppose them.
