RE: Islam after 9/11

Reader comment on item: A New Round of Anger and Humiliation: Islam after 9/11

Submitted by Robert M Abrams (United States), Jun 9, 2002 at 16:17

I have despaired of finding any sign of rational thought among the world's Islamists. Their capacity for virulent hatred for the US and Israel has appeared to be phobic and cruel. This analysis gives me some understanding of their mindset and a glimmer of hope that some secular thinkers in their ranks may deflect the influence of their mad leadership. Unfortunately, the "street" only seems to respect the use of deadly counterforce. This being so, we and the Israelis have taken the correct path for dealing with mindless terrorism.
