Quite correct reading, Jeff, the Canadian public is largely leftist...

Reader comment on item: Does the [New York] Police Department Profile? Should It?
in response to reader comment: Canadians are still very liberal oriented despite the election of the Conservative Government

On the weekend a CBC radio "journalist" berated Robert Fisk -- another moment of high hilarity. The "journalist" was outraged that Fisk had labelled all Canadian journalists as "racists" or at least "potential racists" in their reporting about the 17 suspected terrorists in Toronto. I guess the Toronto Star just wasn't sufficiently pro-terrorist to suit Fisk.

What I found amusing was that this is the same CBC "journalist" who had no problem listening to an Egyptian fellow a couple of years back. The Egyptian had only wonderful things to say about the Conference in Durban, South Africa -- remember that international pro-racism conference that even Colin Powel refused to attend? For the Egyptian, this was a wonderful event (and the CBC "journalist" was in apparent agreement.) Then the CBC "journalist" was so enamoured with the Egyptian's remarks and his wonderful, insightful analysis of Durban, that the Egyptian was brought back onto the program and on a weekly basis offered similar anti-U.S., anti-Israel rantings/ravings.
