Police and Profiling

Reader comment on item: Does the [New York] Police Department Profile? Should It?

Submitted by Nenette Grunberg (United States), Jun 13, 2006 at 20:48

Does profiling exist in the police department? Should profiling be done by the police department? A tough question. It is like asking : did slavery exist in the U.S.A.? Did discrimination or does discrimination exist against the blacks ?Did or does discrimination against the jews exist? Was there profiling against blacks and jews? Was there profiling against the Japanese during WWII? Was profiling during the MCCarthy era right? Is profiling right because of looks and color?

No it should not exist. But did any of my previous mentioned sects of people plan suicide bombings in our country or fly planes into WTC or the Pentagon and still planing similar attacks in the USA when these mentioned individuals being profiled are actually USA citizens either by naturalization or by birth. This is the dilemna not profiling.
