Do Not Be Suprised That The NYPD Does It, Since It Was Hit On September 11, 2001

Reader comment on item: Does the [New York] Police Department Profile? Should It?

Submitted by AnneM (United States), Jun 14, 2006 at 08:02

On the subject of the NYPD doing profiling; it does not suprise me at all, because remember this was the main city that was attacked on September 11, 2001. While there will be public denials of the efforts, it does go on because the NYPD as well as other western nations police departments need to stay on top of the terror threat issue.

Proof also is what had happened in Canada with the arrest of 17-would-be terrorists in the last few weeks. Mr. Pipes, I do have a question and thank you for your response ahead of time. Does Israel still do a lot of major profiling at its airport?

Yes, probably more than anywhere else in the West.
